The 1763 Monument stands at the Square of the Revolution, where Brickdam meets Vlissengen Road at the eastern edge of the old city, beside D'Urban Park. It commemorates the Berbice uprising of 1763, when enslaved Africans led by Cuffy (Kofi) took control of much of the colony of Berbice and held it for the better part of a year.

The monument is a bronze figure of Cuffy, more than four metres high, by the Guyanese sculptor Philip Moore, unveiled on 23 February 1976, the anniversary of the uprising and now Republic Day. The figure is covered in symbolic carving: the faces and figures on it represent the forces that shaped the revolt and the nation that came after. Cuffy is a national hero of Guyana.

The National Trust lists the monument as a national monument. It is some distance from the city-centre landmarks, about half an hour on foot from St George's Cathedral or a short taxi ride; the Botanical Gardens are a further walk east.
